Engineering Expo Shirt

This design was featured on the brochure, tshirts, and advertising materials for the 2013 Engineering Expo. The suspension bridge is a commonplace but still awe-inspiring feature of modern life. It demonstrates how foundational engineering is to our everyday lives. This design therefore prominently features the Sunshine Skyway Bridge: the iconic bridge of Tampa Bay, where the 2013 Engineering Expo was held.

In addition to past accomplishments, however, the expo encouraged participants to interact with the future of engineering. Hovercars (in this case, a modified Pagani Zonda) may never become a mass-market consumer product. Yet they draw our attention to the amazing ways engineering may soon transform our lives. This design combines present engineering accomplishments with a fantastical image of the engineered future. By doing so, it evokes awe for the field’s current state and excitement for its future.
